If you haven't begun storing food against future famine, then you may almost be out of time. According to Jon Markman of MSN Money rising prices and weather-induce production shortages are combining to result in a world-wide famine.
This food shortage would not just be in some third world countries, it would be in downtown Dallas, New York and Los Angeles. We "rich" Americans have just been coasting along focusing on "getting ahead", "being the Joneses", taking those luxury vacations, spending $500 for a pair of sneakers, $1500 for a purse and $5000 for a pair of shoes!
Do we really think that the rest of the world is going to do anything but smirk at us when we complain about the high prices of fuel? When we have to give up our iPods, Blackberries and other money-consuming gadgets, do you think the rest of the world is going to care?
Instead of buying those overpriced items that you don't really need, you might want to think about buying a case of long-term storage foods. Believe me, when the famine comes stalking down your street, you won't be munching on those Jimmy Choos!
