Millstones and the Little Ones

Recently I've been reading more and more about the exposure to explicit sexual acts and perversion that is taking place in many of our nation's schools. This stuff is so atrocious and offensive that there can be no doubt in any Christian's mind that it is an orchestrated assault on the innocents of this nation.

As I was reading one today, I suddenly began hearing the Lord's words where He talks about the punishment that awaits those that hurt children:

Mat 18:6  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Mar 9:42  And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Luk 17:1-2  Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!  2  It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

When I went back to look at these verses, I noticed something interesting:  Unlike other passages in the different gospels that are worded differently, and quite differently in some cases, the Matthew and Mark verses are almost word for word identical.

Then I wanted to see what the Lord was really saying. For instance what was meant to "offend" or what was an "offense". You might be kind of surprised at this...I know I was:

So there's no doubt in my mind that this onslaught of filth to the children of this nation is for the purposes of enticing them to sin, to trap them into a homosexual lifestyle, and to be a stumbling block to a healthy future.

However, as I was looking at the verses in the Bible that contained the word "millstone" I noticed an interesting correlation. While Jesus speaks primarily of what will happen to the individuals that offend the little ones, a millstone is also mentioned as being part of the judgment on Babylon.

Rev 18:21-22  And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.  22  And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

This is the passage describing the destruction of the city (also used in the Bible to mean a nation) of Babylon, starting with "Alas Babylon". If you've read my earlier study on America Babylon, you'll know that based on Jeremiah 50 and 51, that I believe America, the United States, is modern day financial and national Babylon. Now, look at what "millstone" implies: hardship, grinding, scarcity, much work, difficulty

Now look at what's been going on in this nation for the last few years:

• hardship - unemployment rates that have skyrocketed (despite what the administration wants you to believe), 
• scaricty - unless your head has been buried in the sand (or in your iPhone) you are surely aware that beef prices are skyrocketing and going higher due to a shortage of beef
• difficulty - storms, storms, storms and this winter alone with blizzard after blizzard, the hard times are not over. That snow is going to melt and when it does we'll see spring flooding that will make previous floods like nothing
• with much work - people are working more, often taking two or more jobs just to be able to put food on the table and now to be able to afford their mandatory "affordable" health care.

Looks to me like that maybe that millstone has been thrown down on Babylon.

However, instead of getting upset (although if I were a parent with kids in public school, I'd be doing whatever it would take to get my kids away from these attacks and start homeschooling them)...I'm reminded of Psalm 37: "Fret not because of evil doers". God is going to take care of them and it may already be happening.

The Time of Her Harvest

If you've read my earlier Bible studies, you'll know that I believe that Jeremiah 50 and 51 describes not only the destruction of ancient Babylon, but of a future (at the time it was written) nation that would resemble the earlier Babylon.

One verse that should be noted, especially at this time, is Jeremiah 51:46 And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

Now, I'm not sure about the "rumor" that might be circulating right now, but I can tell you that this year has been a year of increasing violence in our land.

With the exception of the April shooting, all of the rest have occurred in the last two months. Now, guns don't kill, people kill. So, I'm wondering what's going on. It is indeed "violence in the land".

Jeremiah 51:46 goes on: "...ruler against ruler."

If you've read or watched the news lately you've noticed this year is the year of "ruler against ruler" as the current president, Obama and the former governor of Massachusetts go head to head fighting to be named (or renamed) the ruler of the US.

So possibly two indications of the timing of the destruction of America Babylon. There's more:

Jer 51:33  For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. 

Jer 50:16  Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land. 

So these two could indicate that the destruction will occur in the fall. 

Is that all? 

Not at all. How about the fact that hurricane season is also in the fall, and Jeremiah even indicates destruction from winds and water:

Jer 51:1  Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;   

Jer 51:42  The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. 

Jer 51:55  Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered: 

One verse that might indicate how the destruction will come:

Jer 50:15  Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

We are the only nation in the world that has used nuclear weapons against another country.

Winds and Waves Roaring

Anyone who has been reading my blog, knows that I firmly believe that Jeremiah 50 & 51 is a prophecy not only about ancient Babylon, but about the end days Babylon of the United States. After these last few weeks of hurricanes, I wanted to point out some of the scriptures in these chapters that did not apply to ancient Babylon and could only apply to a different Babylon.

Jer 51:42 The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.

Ancient Babylon only had a small strip of land that was coastal. The rest of the country was totally landlocked. It would therefore have been impossible for much of Ancient Babylon to have been covered by waves. However, we have all seen the newscasts showing the images of Florida, the Gulf Coast, New Orleans, Houston and Galvaston flooded.

Jer 51:55 Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:

Jer 51:1 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;

No one who reads the Bible, who believes in God's judgment, can see what is going on and not realize that we are seeing the beginning of God's judgment of America. How much worse is it going to be? At 51 years old, I have never seen a hurricane hit the coast and then travel thousands of miles inland leaving hurricane-like devastation in its wake.

This last weekend Hurricane Ike struck the Texas coast, leaving Galvaston destroyed. It then traveled north across Texas, and then turned northeast and travelled across the midwest where high winds left downed trees and powerlines in Ohio and Indiana. Today, Monday, this same storm is crouching over New England.

Not only that, but we are seeing a wave of financial institutions being toppled by the winds of economic depression. The devastation in the wake of the economic storm is going to be even more devastating that what we saw in New Orleans and now in south Texas.

I fully expect to see this judgment spread across the country. While the east coast has been hit pretty hard, the west coast has had some quiet. There's a sense in my spirit that the next disaster will be on the west coast. What? I don't know. Perhaps an earthquake, another volcano? I just know that we are seeing God's hand of judgment upon this land that once professed to be a Godly nation.

For those of you who haven't prepared physically, there's still time for you to get what you need to help your family in the event you are forced to evacuate. I've watched the news this weekend of thousands and tens of thousands of people who were forced to evacuate who had NOTHING. They were going to be totally dependent upon the charity of the government agencies.

However, occasionally you would see a person or family where each person wore a backpack or carried a large bag. While they are also being forced to evacuate, those folks didn't have that look of desperation seen on the faces of so many others. It is very possible that those backpacks and bags were actually completely stocked go bags, bug out bags, disaster survival kits, etc. Whatever they were, those folks were better prepared than others.

America Babylon - continued

Jer 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

What other nation, besides America, has so influenced the world with her affluent lifestyle, decadence, and drunkeness?

Jer 51:8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

Again, ancient Babylon fell in leadership to Alexander the Great, but it wasn't physically destroyed. Instead it was gradually abandoned which then resulted in it physically falling into disrepair and desolation. But this verse describes something "sudden" and "painful".

Jer 51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

Will those who have immigrated to the US (America Babylon) decide to return to their own lands after the fall? "Judgment reaches to the heaven...lifted up to the skies" could that be describing a mushroom cloud or clouds?

Jer 51:13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.

If you will look at a map of ancient Babylon there was only a short strip of land at the southeast tip of the empire that actually made contact with water. The US on the other hand "dwells on many waters": the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Bering Sea, the Gulf of Mexico.


"Abundant in treasures" certainly describes the vast wealth that has come out of the US, not only natural resources like minerals, oil, natural gas, gold, silver, woods, but incredible paper wealth has been generated in the US. "The measure of thy covetousness" the US has set the standard for covetousness in the world. Is there any other nation in the world for which the term "conspicuous consumption" could apply?

America Babylon - Continued

Jer 50:46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

Since ancient Babylon more or less died with a wimper and over a period of time, I believe that this verse describes the fall of the US. "At the noise...the earth is moved" could be describing something absolutely catycalismic. And "the cry is heard among the nations" only in modern times could the cry of a nation's destruction be heard around the world.

Jer 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.

Again, "Flee out of the midst of Babylon," is this a reference to "spiritual Babylon" as some teach, meaning to get out of the organized, 501C3, government-recognized religions and denominations? Again, "time of the LORD's vengeance" is a term associated with end times.

America Babylon, continued

Jer 50:32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

Remember when ancient Babylon was finally defeated by Alexander the Great, the city itself was not destroyed, it just fell into ruin. How would a "fire" be kindled in the cities of the US? By rioting? By nuclear attack...it does say "cities"?

Jer 50:37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

America is a land of "mingled people"

Jer 50:38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

Parts of the US have been in the midst of terrible drought in the past few years. It is possible that this verse also has a spiritual meaning in that there is a drought for good foundational teaching in many of the churches.

"Mad upon their idols"...if that doesn't describe how caught up the American people are with their celebrities. There are cable channels that are devoted 24/7 to telling us about our idols; the movie stars, the television divas, the rock stars, the sports heroes...our American idols. We are a land of idols and we love them.

America Babylon - Part 6

Jer 50:25 The LORD hath opened his armory, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans. "indignation" is another term often associated with end-time events. So whether America Babylon will be destroyed before the Wrath of God or will be spared that final destruction until the Wrath is poured out.

Jer 50:26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left. What would be considered the "utmost border" of the US? My first thought was Alaska and the fact that Russia could so easily cross the Bering Sea into Alaska. Just an idea.

Jer 50:27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation. end-time phrase...could this "woe" be one of the "woes" mentioned in Revelations?

America Babylon - Part 5

Jer 50:20 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve. Again reference to future end-time events.

Jer 50:21 Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

According to the Bible Encyclopedia:
Merathaim
Meaning: double rebellion
probably a symbolical name given to Babylon (Jer. 50:21), denoting rebellion exceeding that of other nations

According to Eastons Bible:
Pekod - probably a place in Babylonia (Jer. 50:21; Ezek. 23:23). It is the opinion, however, of some that this word signifies "visitation," "punishment," and allegorically "designates Babylon as the city which was to be destroyed."

"...utterly destory them" is a command which for ancient Babylon took place over an extended period of time. It is therefore conceivable that for future "Babylon" her destruction could occur in a single act or a single series of events that occur simultaneously.

Jer 50:22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction. While the army/government of ancient Babylon was defeated in battle by Alexander the Great, there was no "great destruction". In fact the armies of Alexander were specifically forbidden to enter the homes of the residents of Babylon. So once again this is a prophecy with a future fulfillment.

Jer 50:23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations! What other nation has been a "hammer of the whole earth" imposing her will with "hammer-fisted" force and authority? The mighty United States of America, of course. But this indicates that that "hammer" will eventuallyl be destroyed.

America Babylon - Part 4

Jer 50:15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

Again, "vengence of the Lord" is a recognized "end-times" phrase. "As she hath done, do unto her" could be an indication that just as we have arbitrarily entered other countries to impose our will on them that the US will be invaded. Possible? Afterall how many countries have we entered in the past 50 years?

Here's a short list of just a few that I can remember: Cuba, Korea, Vietnam, Serbia/Croatia, Granada, Afganastan, Iraq...and I'm sure there are more. How many of those actually asked the US to step onto their soil (and I don't see much difference between the US and the UN, because in most cases the US military has lead)

Jer 50:16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

Is it possible that "time of harvest" indicates the actual timing of the destruction of America Babylon as being the fall of the year? Even "sower" which usually indicates spring sowing, could also apply to the fall as there are some crops that are sown in the fall.

Also "flee every one to his own land..." could this indicate that as America Babylon is invaded (the oppressing sword) that many of the immigrants will flee back to their own countries?

According to Wikipedia ancient Babylon was never "destroyed" in one incident. Instead, after being conquered by Alexander the Great, and upon his death being divided between his three generals, the people eventually began leaving Babylon, until eventually the city was empty and desolate and fell in ruin.

American Babylon, Part 3

Jer 50:8 Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

There is some that believe that the "Babylon" of the end times is two different entities. One is physical Babylon which they believe is the USA. The second is spiritual Babylon which is the organized religions and denominations which have descended from the Roman Catholic church. Therefore "remove out of the midst of Babylon" here is referring to getting out of the spiritual Babylon.

Jer 50:9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country (depending on your location in the US, going straight north over the pole one will come to either Russia or China): and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows (missles) shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

At one point it seems I saw a map of how Russia had her missles aimed at points in the US and the trajectory of those missles was over the North Pole.

Jer 50:13 Because of the wrath of the LORD (again a phrase associated with end times) it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

While ancient Babylon was totally devastated and has not been inhabited since, the plagues may reference the US and future biological and post-devastation outbreaks of disease.

America Babylon, Part 2

From Jeremiah

Jer 50:4 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

"those days" "that time" often are phrases associated with end-of-the-world or end-times occurences. When found here it signifies the duality of the prophecy about Babylon; near (old Babylon) and far (future "Babylon").

Jer 50:6 My people (christians) hath been lost sheep: their shepherds (pastors) have caused them to go astray (false teaching), they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place (Jesus).

Nowhere is this more evident than in the America today. We are a "christian" nation who have forgotten Jesus and instead are seeking the dollar and prosperity. It is even more evident in that we now have all manner of sinful lifestyle being represented in the pulpit by the very pastors that are supposed to lead the sheep.

They're leading the sheep, all right! Leading them straight to hell! Judgment is coming on America, otherwise God is going to have to beg forgiveness of Sodom and Gomorrah.

America Babylon

Is it possible that even though the United States of America doesn't appear identifiably spelled out as the "USA" or "America" that she is nonetheless in the Bible? Could God have failed to mention what has become the most powerful nation on earth, especially in regards to end-times prophecy? Not likely. But it may be necessary to look for dual prophecy.
