Light in Your Dwelling

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
Exo 10:22-23

I saw this scripture this morning, and could not remember ever seeing it before. But I was struck by the significance of this for those of us who are prepping in obedience to the Lord's direction to "get ready". Since I fully believe the Word when it says that God never changes, my favorite saying is "if you want to know what God is going to do, look at what He's already done".

So when read that the land was covered in such a thick darkness that no one moved for three days, I immediately thought of several ways in which our land could be covered in a "thick darkness":
  1. EMP
  2. Symbolically the darkness of unrestrained sin
Then I read that while the rest of the land was suffering in such a thick, suffocating darkness, the children of Israel were able to see because they had light in their dwellings. In their case that meant, that while the rest of the land couldn't move even in their homes, the Israelites, as long as they stayed in their homes, they had light.

So what's the significance for us today? Is it possible that in the event of a massive power outage, such as an EMP, that there will be some Believers who will have a miraculous power in their homes? That while their neighbors have no power, they are able to flip the switch and somehow have power? In our human understanding, we might say "No"...however, I believe it is entirely possible...afterall He's done it in the past.

Or is it a symbolic meaning? That as sin increases and becomes more and more oppressive, that as Believers we will have the Light of the world, Jesus Christ, providing light in our lives? That's already the case, isn't it? While that's miraculous, that's not a visible light.

No, I really believe that we might want to take a relook at some of the amazing miracles God performed on behalf of His people throughout both the Old and New Testaments. Here are just a few, off the top of my head:
  1. During the 40 years in the desert, shoes did not wear out
  2. Manna
  3. Water in the desert
  4. Light in the darkness
  5. Paul and Silas freed from jail
  6. Jesus' feeding of the 5000
  7. The cruse of oil that didn't run out for 3 years
  8. Three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace
  9. Daniel in the lions' den
  10. A prophet being fed by ravens
What more might we expect to see? I believe there will be Believers who experience one or more of these amazing, unexplained miraculous provisions of God.

Days Shortened for the Elect's Sake

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Mat 24:21-22

Most of you know this, but the earthquake in Chile a few days ago had an interesting effect on this whirling ball in space we call the Earth. It was moved on it's axis.

This evening on the news the result of this shift was revealed. Days will be shorter. True only a millionth and a half of a second...but what happens as more and more earthquakes occur on the Pacific Rim of Fire, where this latest earthquake occurred?

I was at my desk and looked up at the television as they began talking about the effect of the shift. What I saw on the screen was "Days Shortened". I kind of got goosebumpy and believe this is just the beginning of the days being shortened.

That also tells me that we are right at the cusp of the start of the great tribulation (if not already into the very beginning days of it)

This should not cause fear in anyone, but a rejoicing that we are that much closer to being with our Heavenly Father. Rejoice! For your Redemption draws nigh.

Life or Eternity?

This is a conversation that took place in the Psalms91SurvivalHomestead group. The first statement is from another member and my response follows. I believe this will be a blessing and encouragement.

"If what comes to pass is what we believe is coming, then we need to really prepare
ourselves, because it is going to be ugly. Millions to billions are going to die.
We can not save them all. We will have to leave their fate to G-d. It may not
be a blessing for those of us that do survive. I think those that survive have a
destiny that G-d has set for them. If you are one of the choosing ones, it is given
that you will have friends, family, and love ones that will not survive. Not because
they are bad people, but it isn't their destiny.

I have heard people say: "To G-d every life is important." I don't think that is true.
What is true is every soul is important. How our soul lives the live we are given is
what is important."

You are absolutely right. The "life" is not important... it is the "soul/spirit" our eternal destination that matters with God. 99.9% of humans (even Christians) cannot separate in their mind that what goes on here is only important for its eternal significance.

I have been aware for a long time that the death was going to be devastating. I believe that it is very possible that all of my family will die. Since I know the eternal destination of most of them, I'm okay with that. There are a few that I'm concerned about, however, I've placed them in His hands, and I know that He is not willing that any should perish. Everyone has heard the Word, and God says it will not return void.

Here's the thing. I'm a 52 (almost 53) year old, overweight, out of shape single woman. Yet I know that the Lord has prepared me for this day and time. I can look back over my life, at the books that have interested me, at the experiences I've had and at the things I've learned, and realize that I'm here. I believe that I will see the parting of the clouds and His return.

I know that things are going to be bad. I know that 10,000 will fall on the one hand and a 1000 on the other, but it shall not come near me. I know that I'm going to see miraculous works.

Why me? I don't know. I'm humbled and admittedly a little scared (that's not really it, because I know fear is a spirit and does not come from God)...but I know, that I know, that I know, that He has me in the palm of His hand. I know He has His angels encamped about me. I know that what He has promised He is able to accomplish.

I know that His strength is made perfect in my weakness. I know Him. He never changes. What He has done in the past He will do in the future. He is and forever will be.

I want to clarify something. When I say that God is not concerned about life, I don't mean that He doesn't value life. That is utterly wrong; else He wouldn't be so against murder and abortion. However, I truly believe that He is more concerned with each person's eternal destination than He is "life" as we humans define it.

He knows that life extends beyond this frail from we call a body. For those that know Him and have accepted His Son as Savior, life here is just a vapor. We have a promise of something greater and eternal.

Psalms 91 Survival Homestead

For a couple of years new I have been the owner of the Survival Homestead Yahoo Group, a group of over 300 members that discuss preparedness, while avoiding contentious subjects like politics and religion.

However, I had seen a need for a group where the focus would be preparedness based on Biblical prophecy. I invite you to check out the Psalms91 Survival Homestead Yahoo Group. If you have been feeling alone in your preps, and yet feeling like the Holy Spirit is definitely telling you to get ready for what is about to come on the earth, then you will find fellowship and encouragement here.
