No Turning Back - Prepping for Eternity

Today someone posted to the Psalms91SurvivalHomestead Yahoo Group a video of a senator's speech and the standing ovation he received after his speech. Here's my response:

Won't do a bit of good, because what's happening can't be stopped. We've gone past the point of returning, and all we can do is watch as this once-great nation falls like Babylon fell. Nationally, we've turned our backs on God and judgment has started.

Salvation is still available to individuals and small groups, but we've gotten too bloated and greedy, too full of pride and lust as a nation to bend our knee voluntarily to Almighty God. Therefore, God has decreed that this country will fall.

This judgment has already started, so don't be thinking or even hoping that we've got years, perhaps even decades. Even now you can feel the cold wind of famine, starvation and death blowing over this land. In the midst of record-setting drought (and stopping the rain has always been a judgment of God) and unprecedented heat, many many who are listening to the Holy Spirit are putting aside every bit of food and water they possibly can.

Those who listen to the Lord, who not only prepare physically to the saving of their household, but spiritually will be the ones ready to reach out to others. If you are only preparing to survive then you will die and your preps will be given to another. If you have the attitude of "us four and no more" and plan on using a gun to protect what God has given you, then be prepared for God to take it away.

There will not be a recovery that will allow us to ever return to a "normal life". Do you read the Book? Do you recognize that we are standing on the very precipice of prophetic history? The Tribulation has started (or is so close to starting there is no difference), the Horsemen are riding. Once started it won't be stopped. The events in Daniel, Ezekiel, Matthew 25, Mark 13 and Revelation will unfold as prophecied. Then the Millenium.

The time of the greatest harvest of souls is upon us. If you are looking for a future where you will have children, watch your grandchildren play, have a fantastic career and make lots of money...don't hold your breath. You better be preparing spiritually to lead as many as the Lord brings to you into the Kingdom.

Many will be called upon to give up their lives. Are you prepared for that? Have you prepared your family to not give in to the threats that they deny Christ or see a parent or sibling killed? If you haven't, then you are neglecting their education. Have you discussed with your spouse this scenario?

We have got to get our eyes looking on the eternal and come to the realization that what is happening here is  temporal and that the only thing that matters is eternity.

So keep prepping, but do it for eternity, not just as a hedge against a future, temporary calamity.

To Be or Not To Be Proud

Something to Think About:

Just read the title of a Facebook page "I'm Proud to be a Christian". Sounds good and perfectly acceptable, unless you know what God thinks about pride and the proud. No where in the Bible is being proud or having pride in anything to be commended.

Pro_16:5  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
Jer_13:15  Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
Jas_4:6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

That's just three out of 95 verses in the Bible that makes it very clear that being proud is NOT something that God honors.

Still not convinced, here are more:
  • Lev_26:19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
  • 1Sa_17:28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
  • 2Ch_32:26 Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
  • Job_33:17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
  • Job_35:12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

  • Psa_10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
  • Psa_31:20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
  • Psa_36:11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
  • Psa_59:12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
  • Psa_73:6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
  • Pro_8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
  • Pro_11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
  • Pro_13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
  • Pro_14:3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
  • Pro_16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

  • Isa_25:11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
  • Isa_28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
  • Isa_28:3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

  • Dan_4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
  • Dan_5:20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

  • 1Jn_2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Remember, Lucifer lost his place because of pride. However, over eons he has convinced humans that being proud is a good thing.

Everyone has said at some point in their life that they are "proud of" something. It sounds good, but since there is power...extremely creative or destructive power in words, what are we saying when we say "I'm proud" of something? It doesn't matter what we're proud of. The Bible says "out of the heart the mouth speaks". Therefore we say "I'm proud of..." the thing the Lord hears is "I'm proud".

Do you realize that when God commended His Son, He didn't say He was proud. He said, "This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased." God Himself gave us the example of how to express our pleasure in our own accomplishments, in our children's and spouse's accomplishments, etc.

It's time for Christians to think about what they are saying, and whether what they are saying lines up with the Word of God. Could it be that often the failure to see victory in our lives can be blamed on what's coming out of our mouths?

You might wonder what this has to do with Biblical prophecy and End Time events. Since I believe even now that we are seeing unleashing of demonic forces, if as Believers we don't know how to stand against the wiles of the devils, then we will be powerless to be Overcomers in these Last Days. Examine your heart that no guile or wickness be found.

Curse or Principality at Work in Colorado?

With the newest mass murder in Colorado this morning, I began to suspect there might be some curse or demonic principality at work in this state. Just as you can look at a city or area and often perceive the curse or demonic principality, for example when you think of the following cities you probably can immediately identify the spirit over that city (or one of the spirits): Las Vegas/Gambling; Chicago/Corruption; San Francisco/Homosexuality; New Orleans/Decadence; Hollywood/Self-Love; New York/Greed, etc.

So was something similar happening in Colorado? If so, it will show up in a look at Colorado’s history:

  1. 1864 – Sand Creek Massacre – The militia destroyed a peaceful village of Arapaho and Cheyenne in Colorado Territory. Read the truth about this massacre.
  2. 1874 - Alfred G. Packer – lead an ill-fated group of prospectors into the mountains where they got snowed in. A few months later, Packer showed up in town saying he figured the others would have beat him into town since he’d been injured and had to stay behind until he could travel. Oddly, Packer was spending money seen taken from many of the wallets he had in his possession, he also only requested whiskey, evidently not hungry. Then an Indian guide on the same trail reported finding strips of meat, which later turned out to be human flesh.
  3. 1914 – Ludlow Colorado – Nine adults and 11 children in a coal miners’ tent colony were killed by the Colorado National Guard while attempting to quell a labor strike.
  4. 1955 - John Gilbert Graham – Placed a dynamite time bomb in his mother, Daisy King’s luggage before she left her home in Denver to board a DC-6B airliner for a trip. Ten minutes after the plane took off the bomb exploded killing 44 people, including Mrs. King.
  5. 1999 – The Columbine High School shooting
Historically, when there was an altercation between settlers or the government forces and Indians, which was unjust and resulted in many native deaths, a curse was spoken against the perpetrators. For instance:

  • Curse of Tippecanoe – Also known as the 20-year curse – “…describe the regular death in office of presidents elected in years divisible by twenty, from William Henry Harrison (elected in 1840) through John Kennedy (1960). Ronald Reagan, elected in 1980, was shot and survived; George Walker Bush (2000) survived an attempt on his life unharmed.” – Courtesy of Wikipedia
  • The Cherokee Indian’s Curse – When this Cherokee drank from a spring and realized that the water was poisoned, he spoke out a curse on those that he assumed has poisoned the water and the future of the property. The curse seems to have been in a great measure realized. For about half of the time which has elapsed since its occupation by the whites began, the property so cursed has been in litigation. Click here for the full story.

Those are just two examples. Is it possible that as Chief Niwot lay dying after the Sand Creek Massacre that he cursed the citizens of Colorado? Who knows, but I wouldn’t discount it.

So perhaps I cannot pinpoint whether there’s a curse or principality at work in Colorado, but something tells me, that this is probably not the last time Colorado will be in the news with this kind of thing.

Soaking: A Doctrine of Demons?

Yesterday I commented on someone's Facebook posting asking where in the Bible one finds "soaking."

ME - not sure where "soaking" is in the Bible, nor where "no thinking" is promoted in the Bible. Instead we are told to "think on these things". JMHO

Response - You are right there is no such word as soaking per se in the Bible but the experience is to cease from your own dead works and Be still and know that He is God Ps 46:10 and to like Samuel did just lay in His presence. There is plenty of time for thinking and being a good Berean and searching the scriptures but this is a time out where you don't lean to your own understanding Prov 4 and you just come into His presence and recieve. As you said on your website we are in a war it's not about playing church but even Yeshua himself took a nap on the boat and we are told to labor to enter into His rest. Heb 4:11 Resting is not just physically but laying down all our thoughts. So many don't know how to do this and they are weary in well doing.

Notice the "laying down all our thoughts".

So this morning, I did a bit of research, because when I hear about soaking and the emptying of the mind alarm bells go off in my spirit...kind of like what happened when I attended (the first and only time) Rodney Howard Browne meeting. All those people rolling on the floor laughing...no mention of Jesus Christ...no scripture given...and yet this was supposed to be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit?

Anyway, what I've found only supports the reason for the disquiet in my spirit at this "new" practice that is invading many churches.

“these mystical experiences broaden the division between a "factual faith" and a "felt faith," and threaten to replace sound biblical teaching with emotion-driven response.” http://www.gotquestions.org/soaking-prayer.html

Soaking prayer involves a trance like meditative or contemplative state in which the adherent is encouraged to empty their mind. This type of prayer seeks to experience God’s presence through mystical exercises which teeters dangerously on the edge of the esoteric.
“is nothing more than contemplative / centering / listening prayer and is used for occult meditation.” http://enjoyingthejourney.blogspot.com/2009/02/is-soaking-prayer-biblical.html

You’ll notice in this article the mention of Rodney Howard Brown. That’s all I needed to see to confirm in my mind that this “soaking” is NOT Biblical and is, in fact, demonic.

Prayer in its simplest form in the Bible is calling on the name of the Lord (Genesis 4:26), and in each instance where it is found in Scripture, it is descriptive of communicating with God. Soaking prayer starts that way, but quickly devolves into a trance-like meditative state. This is when soaking prayer ceases to be biblical and becomes more like a New Age practice or something an adherent of Hinduism would participate in.

There is no denying that experiencing the presence of God can be powerful and life changing. It is not the goal of soaking prayer that is biblically off base; it is its methodology. Soaking prayer focuses on obtaining a spiritual high by seeking out the presence of God through mystical exercises. In this it is very similar to ”contemplative prayer” and contemplative spirituality, which are equally unbiblical http://airocross.com/2010/03/19/what-is-soaking-prayer/

I think the biblical foundation that’s cited is very weak. In order to justify the soaking, many texts are taken out of context, or simply gleaned together  to be able to demonstrate that soaking is biblical. Often biblical texts are half or misused without looking at the context.

We must remain vigilant and not everything that seems good immediately accept it as well.  If you want a Bible topic and you have to justify them apart from the Bible, it is not biblical but human.

There is nothing wrong with a good music program that includes the Lord is magnified and there to relax and listen, because you might cheer up. Soaking in my opinion is simply a form of Eastern meditation.  http://www.rejoicenow.nl/page/soaking-eng

Soaking prayer is a modern form of contemplative prayer ... People put themselves in an attitude of stillness, focusing on Jesus and open to the Holy Spirit but with no requests or agenda. The aim is to be still in God’s presence, "waste time with Jesus.". The Toronto church sees soaking prayer as one of the main ways in which they encourage people to be open to the Holy Spirit.

Contemplative Spirituality Definition

definition: contemplative spirituality: a belief system that uses ancient mystical practices to induce altered states of consciousness (the silence) and is rooted in mysticism and the occult but often wrapped in Christian terminology; the premise of contemplative spirituality is pantheistic (God is all) and panentheistic (God is in all). It is using soaking worship music to bring about altered state of consciousness. http://walkingintruth.blogspot.com/2011/04/deceptive-new-age-soaking-prayer.html

“Resting” in the Lord is NOT emptying your mind. Instead the Bible says:

1Th 5:6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us KEEP AWAY AND BE SOBER...8 But since we belong to the day, let us be SOBER, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.

1Pe 5:8 Be SOBER-MINDED; be WATCHFUL. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Eph 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end KEEP ALERT WITH ALL PERSERVERANCE, making supplication for all the saints,

Act 20:29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;

Act 20:30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.

Act 20:31 Therefore BE ALERT, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish everyone with tears.

Titus 2:1-6 talks about being sober-minded, self-controlled (3 times), dignified, and reverent.

Now, I grew up in the Assembly of God church, receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as evidenced with speaking in tongues when I was nine years. I've been a church pianist for years, starting when I was just 15. So I've seen a lot of worship fads come and go, many involving music.

What I've noticed over the years is that all too often the Pentecostals and the Charismatics show a remarkable lack of discernment about what is, and is not, a move of the Holy Spirit. All too often people in these groups focus on the experience...they want the feeling...that emotional high, and they will fall for anything that comes down the road without questioning whether it's really from God.

They'll twist scripture and take it out of context just to support the newest "movement".

Often this disregard for scripture has more to do with pride than lack of spiritual discernment. There's a feeling that comes across from many who fall for the Todd Bentleys, the Jewish Roots, the Toronto Blessing, and all the other fads of "I'm more holy than you, because I..." soak or laugh or pray in the name of Yeshua instead of Jesus.

Silly and sadly dangerous.
