Hostility Towards Christians in America

Persecution comes in many forms. Some are blatant and terrible, deliberate attacks, while others are subtle, overt, often cloaked in humor. All are demonically-inspired attempts to quash any idea you may have of living an open testimony of Jesus Christ.

Luk 21:17-19 Everyone will hate you because you follow me. But none of these things can really harm you. You will save yourselves by continuing strong in your faith through all these things.

New Report Highlights Christian Persecution in America
A stunning new report from The Family Research Council and Liberty Coucil highlights the enormous amount of hostility towards Christians in America.  This is a report every Christian and pastor, in America should read.

Here are some excepts from that 135-page report. You think that's a lot? Yeah. It is. It is also alarming. If you think that it's not happening, just because it hasn't happened to you, then you need to read this. Remember if we are His, then we are all part of the body of Christ, and just because you're the thumb and it's the toe that got persecuted and stomped on, it's still the body that's hurt.

  • A federal judge threatened “incarceration” to a high school valedictorian unless she removed references to Jesus from her graduation speech.
  • City officials prohibited senior citizens from praying over their meals, listening to religious messages or singing gospel songs at a senior activities center.
  • A public school official physically lifted an elementary school student from his seat and reprimanded him in front of his classmates for praying over his lunch.
  • The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs banned the mention of God from veterans’ funerals, overriding the wishes of the deceased’s families.
  • A federal judge held that prayers before a state House of Representatives could be to Allah but not to Jesus.

If you watch television, either sitcoms or dramas, and if you are at all discerning, you don't have to watch very long before you recognize the subtle and increasingly overt attacks on Christianity and Christians. Christians are never portrayed as loving, kind and understanding, as honest, caring and having integrity and courage.

Instead they are portrayed as crooks, bigots, ignorant rednecks, haters and cowards.

Think about it the next time you are mindlessly watching your favorite show. Almost without exception anytime a "christian" is portrayed it is done so with humor and mockery, or with superiority, humanistic pity at the fools.

Luk 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
